CREATIVE LEADERSHIP

My philosophy: I believe that you need to give enough guidance and direction so creatives know what the objectives are, what they need to do, what is expected of them, but also give them enough freedom so they can invest themselves into the project. Once they are invested it builds pride and drives them to do better work. They need to feel like they are part of the process.

CREATIVE TEAM LEADERSHIP

Providing clear department communication in the department goals, direction and initiatives is important. I created a document that outlined the departments, objectives, structure, direction and initiatives.

I was tasked Building a creative department from scratch and then adding other brands and people to that team. I had to convince upper management to purchase the correct equipment, from computers, to printers, scanners and software, tablets etc. I grew the team to expand beyond one brand and now it encompasses 3 brands, 12 direct reports and 3 strong creative departments between 2 cities. This is one example of my experience with leading creative teams over the last 20 years.
